Product Description

Now there's a way to upgrade your iPod into an interactive personal trainer! It's easy, simple, and completely wireless. Sync your info statistics (after your workout) with your PC or Mac computer at home. Now your iPod keeps you in tune while you listen to tunes.

Thanks to a unique partnership between Nike and Apple, your iPod nano or iPod touch (2nd generation) becomes your coach, your personal trainer, and your favorite workout companion. Insert the wireless sensor inside the custom, built-in pocket beneath the insole of your Nike+ shoe, then plug the receiver into the Dock connector on your iPod nano. The iPod touch (2nd generation) includes built-in support for the system ? no receiver necessary. Now start your workout. As your run or walk, the sensor sends information to your iPod, tracking your time, distance, pace, and calories burned. If you choose, real-time, spoken feedback can even alert you to milestones throughout your workout. Back at your computer, sync your iPod to transfer your workout data to iTunes and nikeplus.com. There, you can evaluate your performance history, set goals, and even challenge other runners to a virtual race.
So save money on physical instructors and take your Nike+ and iPod for a run outdoors or a workout at the gym. Then keep track on your progress. Your lifestyle really goes up a notch with the Apple MA365LL/C Nike + iPod Sport Kit.

Customer Reviews

Good for me!  (Rating: 5 out of 5)

I just started the walk to run program and my nike + really keeps me motivated. I love it!!

Cool product.  (Rating: 5 out of 5)

I think this little ad on to iPod was a great idea. It works well and easy to use. I use it with a Shoe Pouch, and the Sport Kit works perfectly after calibration. Way to go Apple and Nike!

Not Perfect - But Pretty Darn Great  (Rating: 5 out of 5)

I have purchased three Nike + in the last two years (one every 8 months). I use it on long runs and short runs, and I find it to be fairly accurate for being a fancy "pedometer." If you really want an exact count, you should get a GPS watch. I wish the battery life were better, but it's inexpensive enough that you can replace it fairly easily. Overall, this is a great product and it works well.

Not for long distances, very unreliable  (Rating: 1 out of 5)

I have purchased two of these over the last two years, and I am utterly disappointed in its performance. Most recently, I used it to run the Nike Women's Half in October 2008. I did the run virtually, and the Nike+ was so inaccurate that it took me 16 miles in order to reach the Half Marathon goal (I ran at a forest preserve, so I knew the mileage I was actually running). I had calibrated it the week before, knowing that my first one was notoriously unreliable.

I do not run in Nike shoes, so I used the Shoe Pouch (also available here at Amazon). The device worked well enough for distances under 4 miles, but the longer the distance, the worse it performed. I cannot describe how devastating it was to reach mile 12 of my half marathon, only to hear the Nike+ log me at 32 minutes/mile!

The Nike+ Web site is very cool, and I loved the encouragement and graphic training history, but the device is just so awful that I am willing to forfeit all of it. I am saving up for a Garmin.

My shoe pouch works fine.  (Rating: 5 out of 5)

I've used the Nike+ thingie for 6 months now and it's GREAT!! It has always been very accurate measuring distance for me. Since I don't have nike shoes I bought a little pouch that you attach to your shoe and have had no issues. It's awesome, it almost turns working out into an RPG :) It tracks your records, and when you hook up your ipod after the run it uploads your information onto the nike website where you can track your progress, set challenges for yourself, join challenges that other people have posted (from all over the world!). It's pretty much awesome.
