Product DescriptionBoost productivity with a wireless all-in-one printer with speeds up to 31 ppm black; 25 ppm color. Feature-rich all-in-one keeps cost per print low and includes automatic two-sided printing and auto document feeder.
HP Injet 6480 All in one printer (Rating: 5 out of 5) This is an excellent printer and produces very clean and sharp graphics on regular paper and also on photo paper. The added advantage for saving paper is its capability to print on both sides of a page. I would recommend this printer to any one. The wireless and wired networking capabilities are also excellent. All in all I am very happy with this printer.
Very nice feature set, unbelievably thirsty (Rating: 4 out of 5) I bought this printer about two months ago and, overall, have been very happy.
Physically, it's very nice looking; it's both tech-y and smooth at the same time. It's a bit large, but worth the real estate.
The feature set is perfect for us. The scanner is a bit slow, but high quality. Copy is great (although I cant get it to copy legal-sized paper). Fax is easy to use. It also makes very cute noises when it turns on and finishes printing. The printer is fast in both black and color ink.
But speaking of ink, this thing GULPS ink in a way I have never seen. (I thought my old Cannon MP530 was bad...). The ink cartridges that ship with the unit are so small they remind me of a baby's toy. I saw there are XL versions available; when I refill I might switch to that.
The application which HP supplies is the largest, slowest, most clumsy app. I downloaded the new version and can't remember how many 10s of MB is was, but it was huge. And it literally takes as long as MS Office to install. It's all pretty, sure, but I don't need any of that. It also couldn't seem to find my printer on the network (see below) during its autodiscovery mode, so I had to enter that manually.
I have mine connected to my wired network, so I don't use the built-in wireless. I connect to it via a static IP address which was super easy to set and use. All my computers connect to it via my wireless router.
The web interface to the printer is very nice, too. It shows you settings and status for the printer.
Software installation NIGHTMARE!!!! (Rating: 2 out of 5) I'd love to comment on how this printer works, but I've spent four hours trying to get the software to load and it won't. The tech support guy (in his barely intelligible Indian accent) is telling me that it's a Windows problem, and not an HP problem (although I've had another HP product on the same machine for four years). I'm getting ready to cram it back in the box and take it back to OfficeDepot!!!!
printer (Rating: 5 out of 5) the hp all in one printer is excellent the wireless worked well and set up was easy.
Perfect Without the Software (Rating: 4 out of 5) This is Ethernet wired into our home network. Downloaded the driver only, did the install, and went through all setup possible using the on printer setup display. All possible features were tested and worked perfectly within 60 minutes of opening the box. Since its now in perfect working order I am afraid to install the full software package I downloaded. The printed user guide is very limited and repeatedly says to consult the help guide that comes with the full software package. My only remaining question is how do I print black only when there is color on the page to be printed...which is probably answered in the software help that I am afraid to install.
