Product DescriptionWeber, Premium Black, Cover Long, For Genesis E-Series, EP-Series & S-series Gas Grills
Manufacturer's error in photo presentation (Rating: 1 out of 5) I don't understand the ventilation design on the Weber Genesis cover, Model 7553. The 2 side vents do little, if anything, to protect rain from entering the grill and water collects on the side tables, draining into the cabinet below the grill. I believe that defeats the purpose of having a grill cover! Granted, vents are needed to prevent condensation issues. A more strategic placement of the grill cover vents would be far better.
When I purchased my new Weber Genesis S320 grill (from Home Depot) I also purchased the grill cover, Model #7553. When I open the box I immediately noticed the material's high quality and it was a perfect fit on the grill. However, a few days later it rained quite hard. The following day when I pulled off the cover both side tables had large water puddles on them.
I went on Amazon which had the cover listed through a third party. I was pleased to see on the box picture that it didn't have side vents (The dark slot-looking items are Velcro straps). So I purchased the cover and received it in a timely fashion from the vendor. However, as I pulled the cover out of the box (which had the same photo - no side vents shown) my excitement turned to dismay. It had side vents and no rear vent. This cover is useless with the side vents so I returned it. The fault is misleading product presentation from the manufacturer (Weber) and not the fault of the Amazon vendor. I hope to find (and purchase) a generic cover which is properly engineered.
Knew what I was getting in for. (Rating: 4 out of 5) I ordered the cover knowing that many people had problems with the placement of the vents. The cover fits well and looks very good. I don't have a major problem with the vents, most of the water that gets in (and a lot gets in) evaporates the next day. Wiping up the water if we have to use the grill sooner isn't a big deal. If Weber says the water isn't a problem then I'm not going to worry about it. We had an older cover(for another grill) that developed some cracks and a little moisture got in. Without the vents the moisture just stayed and probably would have caused problems. I got a good deal on the Weber cover and am happy. A lot of the generic grill covers available do not fit the dimensions of the Genesis Grill. Vent holes or not this one fits.
This isn't it either (Rating: 1 out of 5) I ordered this item thinking it didn't have those round mesh vents on the top sides that the other 7553 cover has. It doesn't. It has LARGER, rectangular shaped vents in the same location. The picture on Amazon DOES NOT show these vents. Nor does the box the cover comes in. Is this false advertising?
These covers MUST have been designed by someone with no real-world experience. Why would anyone buy a grill cover which lets water and snow and ice (I live in western New York) in on operating parts of the grill?
