The sound quality has improved (Rating: 5 out of 5) I have bought skull candy in the past so I was familiar with the brand. My son says this set feels and sounds better..maybe just a Christmas high..who knows!
A decent buy for the price and look. (Rating: 4 out of 5) The main flaw I find with the Skullcandy lowriders is the awkward size. They're a lot smaller than the standard headphone and takes a bit of adjustment on the ears to get the proper sound. At first I assumed I was getting horrendous sound as many people mentioned but specifically due to the various piercings I have on my ears, the lowriders were levitated awkwardly against my head which is something I never had an issue with brands like Sony or Sennheiser. Adjusting them to fit properly makes a huge difference and provides a much clearly sound and heavier base but if you don't adjust these properly against your head it won't sound half as nice as it has the potential to.
They sound isn't phenomenal but they're not awful either if you're willing to work with them. These are not your standard boring black or silver headphones and have a few kinks in the design but if you're considering these, you're going for sound and design. These are worth it if both aspects are important to your purchase. They're small enough to travel and decent enough to use at home (these do leak sound if you like it loud however). They stay snug on the head as well. I would warn if you have a lot of piercings on your ears these aren't the most comfortable after a few hours but are still by far one of the better "fashionable" headphones out there I've tried that matches my fire engine red hair. Worth the price just for that.
Skull Candy is not for me (Rating: 2 out of 5) I've had the lowriders for about six months now since the skull candy craze hit the shelves at Target. I used to buy the earbuds but earbuds didn't work. Tried using these and sure, they're comfortable for the first week, but then they just start hurting, especially if you have ear piercings. They're uncomfortable to wear for more than two hours and the sound isn't that great of a quality. The cord doesn't last. If you buy these, you will be replacing them soon. It's worth it to get "real" headphones for a slightly higher price that last longer and sound better. I would not suggest buying these if you need them for more than two hours a day or buying them at all.
my skull luvs skullcandy (Rating: 4 out of 5) the fit is amazing... there is enuff adjustments to fit on my tiny head and also when im wearing big fluffy winter hats.
super comfortable, sweet color finish
the way they fold up is my fav feature
the sound is very good, although if i hit the volume to max people on the train around me can hear the music too (pet peeve)
perferct for the price ;)
if u upgrade the prob is solved. my friend has some of the fancier ones and they totally rock!!
i think im going to try the skullcandy earbuds too
The Looks sell them` (Rating: 4 out of 5) These ear phones look awesome. The sound is about as basic as a normal pair of ear phones. Nothing really to special but not to bad either. I would recomend these to people but not the real Music Junkee who likes bass and louuuuud clear sounds. The looks are what your paying for.
