Customer Reviews

Laser Level  (Rating: 5 out of 5)

The product arrived in a very timely manner and was exactly what I exspected, a good buy for the money

Straight-Line 120 laser level  (Rating: 2 out of 5)

i bought just the straight-line 120 laser level and i must say that the design and assembly of the product is not so good. out of the package my laser was obviously not projecting a vertical line. the bubble level was not even close to accurate. i disassembled the level since i got it for so cheap that i did not care if i couldn't put it back together. anyway, the laser has a plastic prism that was visibly crooked so i had to scrape away some of the glue that was lodged in the slot and make it true. it is about 95% accurate now. the bubble levels are glued into a plastic frame that cannot be messed with. so basically the bubble level's are not even close to being accurate and when the unit is placed on a level surface, the laser doesnt project a perfect vertical line. oh well. its not even worth the gasoline it takes to return the thing. but since i am the kind of guy that can make it work, i will need to level a surface with my old school level and place a shim underneath the laser level to allow it to project a somewhat vertical line. whatever. i got it for a ridiculously low price so i will once again submit to the stupid way of doing things around the house. don't spend more than two dollars on this embarrassingly poor excuse for a tool. it belongs in the discount bin at a dollar store. if i owned a tool company i would never associate my name with this tool. my two star rating is quite generous actually. i guess the majority of the blame should be on the quality control of the non-americans assembling these things. you would think something like a laser level would actually be a no-brainer accurate device but it is simply one of the worst tools i have ever purchased. it rates up there with a tape measure i purchased at one of those discount tool stores that didnt even lock the tape when engaging the lock switch. there needs to be a good housekeeping seal of approval on tools. instead of being called the "straight-line laser level" it should be called the "crooked line laser not even close to level." thanks for reading my rant about one of the worst products ever to come out of china aside from the lead-painted toys and melamine milk powder and antifreeze toothpaste and so on and so on.

good product  (Rating: 4 out of 5)

According to my hub, this is a good product and he is a handy man. Hope this help.

The Main Function...  (Rating: 3 out of 5)

...of the level does seem to be to sell 3M Command adhesive strips.

As far as I can tell, the device is passably accurate and throws a good laser line (which looks odd and wrong if projected directly onto a flat surface, but is actually correct for its purpose), but it still doesn't quite without some improvisation do the specific task for which I bought it.

The stud finder is compact and well thought-out, particularly with the automatic switch to conserve battery (9V, not included) life, multiple materials settings and integral wall marker. It's as accurate as my older Zircon unit. The scuff pads could be much larger and more durable.

Both tools are attractive and highly-visible. The level could be more versatile, but it's adequate for most home users if not for professionals.

Very helpful, but the laser level.....  (Rating: 3 out of 5)

The laser level comes with non-reusable 3M Command adhesives. So, if you put it on the wall, and then want to move it a bit, you have to pull the adhesive off the wall and use another one. The set I bought from another store (which also came with a distance measurer) only had 10 adhesives.
