Customer Reviews

AwEsOmE!!! sweet bass  (Rating: 5 out of 5)

I love this product! Beats paying $150 for set of Bose. Paying the extra money for the bass feature is definitely worth it. Gives your music a full, rich sound.

Great/Different Sound, a sound investment for below $100  (Rating: 4 out of 5)

I bought these in hopes to replace my Bose Around The Ears that broke two weeks ago.

Pros
- Surround Sound like performance, sounds like there is more depth to your music.
- Good Bass response [read cons]
- Excellent fit
- Good Range from high to lows
- Battery compartment has a clip to prevent drag on the headphones [annoying if anyone has experienced one without a clip]

Cons
- Amp/Subwolfer can be overbearing in certain songs to the point it drowns out mids/highs in the song. [Freestylerz - Painkiller for instance] This forces the user to constantly adjust the amount of bass thats coming through.
- Amp/Subwolfer sounds artificial, hard to explain but it doesn't sound natural..more forced.
- Despite what the other user says I find Metal/Rock to sound the best while electronic music with bass seems to suffer the most under these headphones. Though most of this can be relieved by turning off the sub/amp.

Overall I am satisfied with the product and its definitely a better bang for the buck than my Bose Around The Ears were...despite not sounding as natural as the Bose did.

AWESOME  (Rating: 5 out of 5)

these are by far the best headhphones I have ever heard- the bass boost on this is ridiculous and sounds amazing. the sound is contained so that the people around you are not hearing everything you do

Exceptional Sound for Price  (Rating: 5 out of 5)

I am an eighteen year old at highschool and got these headphones yesterday at Circuit City for $75.00 (w/ tax etc) I listen primarily to techno music but throw in everything else from Cream, to some Broadway songs, to Old School rap, the headphones will deal with most anything with pretty good sound. The bass is something incredible, you can't really understand what it produces until you try them out properly, it is amazing, they can get very low frequency, and very low notes and give a very powerful vibration which really does sound like a high end subwoofer system in a car or home theater. The bass adjuster is useful and you will most likely want to adjust it between songs, obviously this is easy, if you listen to the same genre constantly you can find a perfect setting, or just put it at 100 percent to show what they can do! The first night I got these I listened to the album "Back to Black" by Amy Winehouse, and they couldn't have delivered better sound for the album. Now I give you easy pros and cons

cons
-fairly tight fit (good for blocking out ambient noise, but you can't wear them round your neck comfortably)
-Folding (This is very usful for travel however if you are wearing them about and take them off repeatedly it can get annoying)
-Leather pads (these are very comfortable and manage to block out sound, however after awhile they can get pretty hot)

pros
-Bass adjuster (tune perfectly for different songs)
-Cord (perfect length, its not too long, but not too short)
-Obviously: The Bass! (if you listen to bass heavy music you won't find better headphones for the price)
-Stylish design ( I often wear a suit, or a sport coat, so the pinstripes on the side look good with it)
-Accesories (allow you to hook them up to anything)
-Lightweight (won't feel unnatural and heavy on your head

These phones are certainly worth buying if you listen to bass heavy music, the bad reviews must be coming from those who are either not adjusting them, or listen to music that doesn't capitalize on the bass qualities. I also own the Bose In-Ear earphones, and the Bose on-ear quiet comforts, these can compare, I use the on-ears for the noise cancelling, the in-ears for running and light-weight traveling, now I have the Skullcandys for techno and rap. So now its your choice

Great sound quality for the money...  (Rating: 4 out of 5)

I travel alot for business and for fun. I don't mind aircraft noise enough to shell out on a set of Bose QC2's...but these babies are almost as good. They don't have any kind of built in noise reduction, but on my 4 hour flight to JFK, I did not notice outside noise at any time. I kept having to take them off even with my iPod on pause everytime the flight attendant came around during meal service just to hear her.

Extremely comfortable and the sound quality of these babies is incredible. Sometimes, you have to dial the bass in a little bit using the bass wheel on the battery unit to get the balance you are looking for...but a small price to pay for great quality sound at a great value.

My only issue seems to stem from something that has been mentioned in other reviews...the short cord, the not-so-great placement of the bass amp battery unit, and the somewhat flimsy feel of them when they are folded down. Again, small issue for something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I've been showing off the sound quality to all my friends and even the owners of Bose headphones are impressed.

I totally recommend the Skullcrushers for a great sound and comfort for the cost value.
