The beam is visible enough to see in a dark room... and looks spectacular when you shine it outside on a rainy night. Battery life seems pretty reasonable, especially since AAA batteries are easy and cheap enough to find.

laser was pretty cool but not bright enough for my liking so i got a 30mw laser and it was great no problems with the laser tho it was very good quality i have dropped it many times and still works very good

I am suprized with the quality and performance of this product. Its really fun to shine it so far at night and people have no clue where it comes from. Try turning a candy bar package inside out, stick it on your wall, shine the lazer on it and make a lttle show for yourself, some bowls and glasses and stuff around the house are fun for doing refracting stuff too. This is a whole new world from red lazer pointers!!

After a while the laser begins to fade dramatically. I don't think its the one your looking for if you need a bright efficient laser that doesn't eat batteries like candy. I admit that it was fast shipping but I would rather have it slow and a better product.

Let's be realistic here. Why does the military or law enforcement need a laser pointer? They don't. Laser gun sights maybe, but not a little pointer. Astronomy presentations? Sure, but how often do you do those? This device is for entertaining adults while they play with cats, dogs, or babies! If you have a cat, you NEED a laser pointer. There is no limit to the entertainment this device will give your cat, and in turn your cat will give you. Most dogs will entertain for a short spell, but nowhere on the level of cats. A toddler will also be fascinated by it. I actually found that I could make my 10 month old daughter go where I wanted by leading her with the pointer.

You can also shine it directly into your pupil for a spell and blind yourself in one eye, but I don't recommend that, since it destroys your depth perception and makes driving very difficult.
