Excellent Turner (Rating: 5 out of 5) I use this with my nonstick frying pans. It's the perfect size to flip pancakes. It hasn't melted as so many of my other cheaper products have. I purchased a bunch of the Calphalon products and I love all of them.
I'd highly recommend this product.
Handy turner (Rating: 5 out of 5) I used this turner when I made quesadillas recently. It worked great! Usually, I have to fight to keep the filling in, since most regular sized turners are too small, but this one is big enough to keep them together!
Nylon melts very easily (Rating: 1 out of 5) I have probably already lost 1/4" due to this melting. Nylon is not the way to go.
Its a Pancake Turner.... (Rating: 4 out of 5) Does it turn Pancakes? Yes.
Ok, so the thing works as stated.
So? I like it.
But why did I buy it? Because I needed to solve the problem in my house of cooks using the most sharped metal object they could find to tend to food in Telfon or Non-Stick pans. I had just recently purchased .KitchenAid 9-Inch Square Cake Pan with Silicone Grip to replace an older version of the same pan that had been sliced and diced by sharp metal knives. I am of the strong opinion that Nylon things are not going to do much harm to metal things.
So, I of course ran to Amazon.com (I have Amazon Prime, free 2nd day shipping and not having to spend my money on gasoline to shop for things.)
I had a Nylon spatula I had used for at least 10 years but it was beginning to show signs of wear and age. But it never scratched a pan.
I like this series of Nylon cooking utensils from Calphalon. They have large comfortable rubber like grips. There is no exposed metal surface to get hot if you leave it in a pot. They are relatively cheap or a very good price here on Amazon.
I have purchased about 80% of the series including Calphalon Nylon Fish Turner and Calphalon Nylon Slotted Turner and they are look the same and work just great.
(Why not 5 stars? It is just a pancake turner not an Oscar winning movie.)
excellent quality (Rating: 5 out of 5) Excellent quality, good "look and feel." Adequately stiff, not wimpy. Edges are well formed, crisp and clean (no mold lines, not fuzzy). Correct angle to shaft (many aren't). Good to 400 degrees, the packaging says.
Same is true for "standard" Turner.
