Great Headset (Rating: 5 out of 5) The headset is very comfortable, has volume control on the cord and the ability to mute. For the price, it is hard to beat.
Amazing comfort and sound quality - best headset around (Rating: 5 out of 5) I use a headset all the time. Nothing beats this for sound quality and comfort. I chose it over bluetooth anytime. I have worn this for a few hours (work conference calls), and I forget I am even wearing it. Some people recommend the M510-X1, but check on the Plantronics site for compatibility with your phone. Just because you have a 2.5 mm jack doesnt' mean that one will work. I've used this headset with many phones, as do my friends; it works for all of the 2.5 mm headset jacks we've seen. Fabulous sound quality when it is windy or loud in the background too.
Perfect for a truck driver!!! (Rating: 5 out of 5) I was looking for a nice headset that I could actually hear my husband on since he is an OTR truck driver. Clear comfortable headset!!!
They could hear me, but I couldn't hear them (Rating: 3 out of 5) This is a pretty good product, if you are not in a noisy environment such as a car with the window open or a jeep with the top down. I was walking a very, very strong wind and the person I was talking with said they could hear my voice loud and clear...without hearing the wind. The problem was that I couldn't hear them. The device never really fit in my ear very well. It sort of just sits in your ear. It doesn't seal or fit snugly at all. So I couldn't hear them. And with any external noise at all, I could not hear the person. It was frustrating. I really wish that it had a different type of ear fitting, because I loved how well it blocked the wind. I wouldn't recommend this for use in any vehicle or noisy location, but would recommend it for other purposes.
Excellent mic wind resistance, poor headphone (Rating: 3 out of 5) I've been searching for a good headset for a while and thought I'd give this one a try. I generally liked the Plantronics MX150 and wanted to give this one a shot.
Mic clarity:
Overall, the sound was quiet, but clear. Resistance to wind noises was exceptional. Driving around in a convertible did not affect voice pickup quality too adversely. However, the sound volume grew slowly worse with time over a ~6 month period. In the end, the sound pickup just was too faint to use.
Earpiece clarity:
This was a major issue with this headset. The speaker was just not powerful enough, even with the phone volume turned all the way up with multiple phones. In addition, the sound is highly directional, requiring lots of adjustment to position it. It also wiggles out of place very easily.
Overall comfort:
Even after extensive use, the wide design of the piece that goes into your ear is painful after ~30 minutes. This is obviously not going to be an issue if you don't use the headset that long. The headset also tends to tilt away from your face (dependent on head shape) such that it requires frequent adjustment.
Durability:
Mine effectively became useless after ~6 months as the mic stopped picking up sound. Overall, an interesting idea with less than ideal execution. I with they would use the windsmart boom with a more comfortable and better performing earpiece ala MX150.
