Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Product Description

A good companion for Garmin's Edge 305 and 305CAD cycle computers and the Garmin Forerunner 305 personal trainer, the GSC 10 monitors your cycling rhythm for up-to-the-minute results and later analysis. The self-calibrating, wireless unit measures both speed (in pedaling strokes per minute) and cadence , then provides feedback to the user for optimal performance. You can later feed the results to Garmin's Training Center software, which helps you tailor your workouts to meet specific goals and objectives.

Like the Garmin heart rate monitor, the GSC 10 attaches easily to your bike, where its sensors detect signals from your wheels and send the information wirelessly to your personal trainer/cycle computer. It's also backed by a one-year warranty.

Product Description

Monitor your pedaling cadence as you ride / Measures and reports your pedaling strokes per minute / Self calibrating

Customer Reviews

Garmin Forerunner 305 Speed/cadence sensor  (Rating: 5 out of 5)

It was a little touchy getting it set up, just getting the pick-ups in the right place and close enough. I haven't had a chance to use it outdoors yet but on the trainer it works great.

Garmin Cadence Sensor  (Rating: 5 out of 5)

Great addition to anyone whom already has a Garmin compatible watch! Easy to use, install, and connect. I have no other products/experience with other biking computers but I couldn't imagine them being any easier than this. Provides great feedback on cadence, speed, etc.

works better second time around  (Rating: 5 out of 5)

The item is fine and quality outstanding however shape is not "modernized" with the trends in aluminum-formed chain stays. So the first one I bought disappeared but the second time around I was able to secure it better and keep it going better. I'm happy.

THANKS  (Rating: 5 out of 5)

Amazon...

Another good job. Exactly what I wanted, on the delivery time I needed.

Thanks.

Works well with my MTB  (Rating: 5 out of 5)

The GSC 10 uses two magnets to pick-up the speed (magnet on rear-wheel spoke) and cadence (magnet on the inside of the left crank). The installation is pretty straight forward, although, the illustrations in the directions were not the most useful.

The system has worked well so far. I have not been over the worst 'bumpy' areas yet on my MTB but have been through some rough terrain and nothing came loose.

The FR-305 is supposed to use the speed from the GSC 10 when it cannot get a lock on the GPS satellites. When MTB'ing, which many times involves making many small turns, the GPS mileage reading tends to be a little short. Thus it would be ideal of Garmin could somehow combine the readings from the GPS & GSC 10 to get a more accurate reading.
