COD 2 Rocks!!!! (Rating: 5 out of 5) Solid game play and very approachable. As a casual gamer I love this game!!!
Very fun game (Rating: 4 out of 5) this is a fun WWII shooter if your looking for a great game get this one
simple and fun but a bit boring (Rating: 2 out of 5) If 2 1/2 stars was an option that would be my rating. I'm a World War 2 buff so I enjoyed the realism and historical basis of this game but overall it's just a basic, decent game to get your shooter fix. It's an older game yet I was still impressed with the graphics and gameplay. My main complaint is that it gets boring. It lacks variety and it didn't grab my interest enough to make me want to play it for very long stretches of time. I was rarely itching to play it the way I've been with other shooters. Of course part of the problem is that I'm used to playing such greats as Bioshock, Halo 3, Gears of War, and COD4. Call of Duty 2 certainly isn't as good as COD4 but I only paid $10 for a brand new copy of this game and at that price or less it's probably worth the money.
Definately worth having (Rating: 4 out of 5) Especially at the price these have been going for lately, this game is worth having. Graphics are good, physics and A.I. are good as well. The weapons are probably what impressed me the most. When you fire that last shot out of an American M1 Garand and hear that bandolere "ting" hit the ground, that's priceless. It's that kind of attention to detail that realy sets games like this apart from the others. It's all in the polish. It's very refreshing to play a FPS that's not just slapped together and released as soon as it's able to boot in the console. This one obviously has some serious man hours behind it. And the historical footage from the Military Channel is a nice touch too.
When playing through the single player campaign you go through several different assaults from different angles in the war. When I reached the american 'D-Day' assault in Normandy I got goosebumps. I know that what I experience while playing is nothing like what those men went through, but it's certainly intense.
A great game, and a great piece of entertainment.
Zzzzzz (Rating: 1 out of 5) All that I really need to say is, while me and two other friends were playing this game on multiplayer, I was beginning to fall asleep. One of my other friends actually DID fall asleep!
I found this game to be utterly slow and relatively safe in terms of what it can do--this is not a good thing. There is nothing innovate to speak of. How many times can they redo WWII video games? There's no story line, unless you enjoy sham remakes of what really happened. There really isn't much historical fact here either.
But I guess most people that play this junk are too fat and lazy to open an actual text book to learn what really happened.
