Amazon.com ReviewBrita's high-tech Aquaview system has a special window that allows you to watch the filter catch sediment and other impurities before dispensing cleaner, safer water for cooking or drinking. While the disparity in taste between filtered and unfiltered tap water has long been observed, the Aquaview system illuminates the difference in color. With the convenience of filtered, spray, and stream options, it fits neatly underneath faucet necks. A tug on a special lever releases unfiltered water for hand- or dish-washing, while a handy electronic filter notification alerts users when it's time to change the filter.
The system attaches to standard faucet heads, diminishing contaminants including cryptosporidium, giardia, lead, and sediment. Certified by the National Sanitation Foundation International, the filter also eradicates the odor and flavor of chlorine. Filters should be changed every 100 gallons and can be purchased in bulk. The system is easy-to-install and requires no additional hardware. This item weighs two pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling
The First Few weeks were great (Rating: 1 out of 5) The first 3 or 4 weeks were great the product worked great, saving me a ton of money on bottled water and space in the fridge from the gallon model. I found the model tasted alot less charcoal like than the gallon model. But unfortunately after 3 or 4 weeks the light turned yellow which is fine because we drink alot of water and I didn't expect it to last long but the water that would come out would smell like rotten eggs, now I know Florida water is not the best but my tap water smells fine. I shouldn't have to run my water for 5 minutes before pouring a glass. Also the model is a bit bulky making it harder to do dishes. Last but not least it makes the pipes vibrate in brita mode, I try to turn it on as slowly as possible but unless its barely trickling those pipes will vibrate and if they burst I know brita's not going to pay for them.
Probably user error (Rating: 4 out of 5) I have had the Brita Aqua view for around three years now. And the only time I have ever had any complaint other than the replacement indicator not seeming terribly accurate, was when I accidentally ran hot water through the filter. HOT WATER WILL RUIN THE FILTER!! At somewhere between 15 to 20 dollars per filter, it's a mistake I only made once. The filters have a good life span aside from that. I have been very pleased with the quality and taste of the filtered product. And 2 of my years with it were in Atlanta, where the water is notoriously bad.
And how many other on tap water filters offer a sprayer option? I use that feature almost exclusively, I believe it cuts water usage when rinsing dishes by about 30%. That alone puts it a step above. If used properly I think the Aqua View is as good or better than any other available.
The Best product (Rating: 5 out of 5) Brita aquaview is the best filtration system that you will ever buy and is so simple to install it will only take you 5 minutes is and awesome product in my personal opinion in you need a water filter for your home check on this product you will never regret buying this product.
Brita faucet filter (Rating: 3 out of 5) Tastes better than straight tapwater, more like spring water now, but still not very good tasting. It works fine, but with Anaheim tap water, it's just not enough.
OK (Rating: 2 out of 5) I've had this for over a year now. The water itself is great. The problem with this unit is that the replacement indicator stopped working long ago. It flashes green when it's on but the red light never comes on. We've figured out that the flow of water gets slower the older the filter is and replace it when that happens.
It's also a good idea to clean the entire unit from time to time, it gets a build up of bacteria.
