This pad sucks (Rating: 1 out of 5) Too small. The pad glides all over the desk because of the completely ineffective 'grip' on the bottom. There are much better options out there. Try the ones from Handspring. They rock - also cheaper. Don't waste your time or money with this one.
Works Well (Rating: 4 out of 5) While not perfect, this is the best mouse pad I've found. If it slides around on the desk, try washing it in warm water and drying between paper towels. I've found that it'll grip better if you do that periodically.
Unreal precision (Rating: 5 out of 5) This mouse pad provides unearthly precision. This is not like ANY other mouse pad, but somehow provides laser like mouse precision. Buy it!
Try this instead (Rating: 3 out of 5) I had to rate this item to get this on here, but I've never bought it.
However - I have spent more time than I like to admit looking for a decent optical mouse pad.
I'm a CAD jockey, meaning Computer Aided Drafting, and I run my screen resolution at 1280x1024 so I can see fine detail. I freely admit I'm hard to please in the mouse pad category, but on the other hand, why is it so tough to make a decent optical mouse pad?
After falling just short of strangling a computer store bozo, I went home, thinking all the way. When I got there, I hunted up a manila folder, cut in half, and taped it to my desk.
I like it!!!!!!!!! It's smooooth and fast and thin and not jumpy in the least. Did I mention it is dirt cheap? It has a hard surface, so we'll see how long it lasts, but I have a whole drawer full of material.
Try it.
Crap (Rating: 1 out of 5) Does not work at all with the Apple Wireless Optical Mighty Mouse (I know, unbelievable that a mouse pad does not work, how hard is it-?).
I returned it.
