Feathered Phonics Strictly for Training (Rating: 4 out of 5) Feathered Phonics held my cockatiels attention the first time he heard it, after that, it was a little boring for him. The learning structure does not hold their attention. Maybe more lively music and sounds would help. All in all, it is a good product, if used with other bird sound products.
Great training cd - lots of great phrases! (Rating: 5 out of 5) I purchased this cd in a local pet store, and it's great! There are 96 words/phrases/sounds as well as two extra "spacing" tracks - these are either 1 minute or 5 minute in length, which you can use to space time between tracks. For example, you can select the word/phrase (i.e. track 43 It's Time to Get Up) which says the phrase, and then has 10 seconds of blank time after the phrase, you can then program track 98 (5 minute spacing track), multiple times in a row, and then select repeat all. That way, you will have the phrase repeated regularly, but in a bird-friendly/safe way.
Some words and phrases included:
Go Clean your room, I like finger foods, Walk the plank, Old Macdonald had a farm (whistled),Friends dont let friends own cats, Get me some food quick, Where's me rum, Shall I answer?, The phone is ringing, What's that smell, What's wrong with you?, I am fine, How are you?, How was your day? etc....not all of the phrases are done in the pirate voice. There's also a female voice who says a lot of the phrases too (not very excitedly in my opionin, but she does speak clearly)
Also this cd contains a number of tracks that are simply different noises (sometimes birds will respond better to various noises and may encourage them to talk)
These sounds include: Car engine running, dishwasher, doorbell, girl laugh, Jungle background, kid cough, kid coughing, laughing -children, microwave, Razzberry, running water, Vaccuum, various background noises (that's actually what that track is called) and washing machine.
My parrot likes the background noises, and listens attentively to the training word/phrase, during the training sessions. I find he does the most talking when Im out of the room (so I will sit outside the door and listen to him chatter away. I will definately be purchasing some more of these training cds. The only thing that would be good to know, is all the phrases that are on each cd. Sometimes people are only looking for some basic phrases and may not like all the words/phrases that are on these particular cds. Either way, I highly recommend it.
