Amazon.comThough she made her first movie at the age of 13, Diane Lane has only blossomed into a true star in her 30s, and Under the Tuscan Sun marks her full flowering. After a brutal divorce, Frances (Lane, Unfaithful, A Walk on the Moon) is persuaded by her friend Patti (Sandra Oh) to take a tour of Italy--where, on a whim that she hopes will rescue her from her desperate unhappiness, she buys a rundown villa and sets out to renovate it. Along the way, she gets advice from a former Fellini actress, meets a scrumptious Italian lover, and helps support Patti after her own relationship derails. The conclusion of Under the Tuscan Sun holds no surprises, but the deft turns and observations along the way are delightful. Lane carries the film effortlessly but surely, exuding both heartbreak and re-awakening passion. --Bret Fetzer
Outstanding Movie (Rating: 5 out of 5) This is one of Diane Lanes best performances I have had the privilege of watching. It covers a spectrum of emotions. The story line takes you thru many ups and downs. The scenery is also excellent. Worth the price !
Under the Tuscan Sun (Rating: 3 out of 5) The movie is
True-to-life
when comes to "ugly
Divorce" but
in Tuscan,
Italy magical things happen
and "Happiness" is aquired
over length of time, the
scnery is astouding.
True Romantic Comedy (Rating: 4 out of 5) A chick flick if there ever was one. But pretty high quality stuff about a divorcee who finds a new life in Tuscany. Of course, actually buying and renovating an old house there would cost a fortune in reality, so this is clearly a movie. Worth watching for the scenery.
Highly recommended (Rating: 5 out of 5) This was a great movie. My daughter told me about it and I ordered it. I'm glad I did. It was very realistic in it's story.
awsome! (Rating: 5 out of 5) Great girlfriend movie! Lots of inspiration and very similiar to the eat, pray, love book.
