With a loose, free-associative flow, Ellen DeGeneres glides through her 2003 HBO special, Here and Now. In just the first 10 minutes she touches on procrastination, new paint colors, television commercials, and mental disorders--topics that fit into the show's subtitle, Modern Life and Other Inconveniences. By the end, she's also spun out sneaky jokes about cell phones, memory loss, elevators, vocal inflections, pickle jars, and social embarrassment. Her genius is that she never seems like a genius; on the contrary, DeGeneres seems like your next door neighbor pointing out the obvious, yet somehow an hour whizzes by in complete enjoyment. No matter what kind of mood you're in at the time, you are sure to laugh so hard your eyes will water with this video. She is HILARIOUS making fun of everyday things we go thru in life. MUST SEE!

Put aside any notions of Ellen you have from the Ellen Degeneres show. I have watched the show and not found it particularly funny. Here and Now, on the other hand, was extremely funny (if you like the show, this will probably be even better). Ellen pokes fun at everyday occurrences and wraps everything up in a theme which everyone can probably relate to: procrastination. Here and Now offered profound thoughts in ways that don't require too much thought... It was a very well-spent hour.

Very Upbeat and funny and to date for all ages and light hearted good close to the heart fun.

If you like Ellen, you will LOVE this stand-up routine. I am not the sort of person who likes to watch movies more than once or twice, but I have watched this DVD so many times that I feel like I know it by heart. It's not gay-themed, so if you're looking for that, this is not the DVD for you (minus one small bit at the beginning of the routine which is, of course, HILARIOUS). Ellen discusses everyday things and then presents them in a way that will have you in stitches. If you're considering buying this - consider no longer. JUST BUY THIS - NOW! You won't regret it.

One day during lunch hour, I placed the DVD in and tried to watch it. I started eating and she made me laugh so hard, I was afraid I d choke! So, I finally decided to watch it, when I wasnt eating and I laughed so hard, I could hardly breathe! She is just fantastic. Thank-you Ellen for making us feel so good! So, a few pointers... dont watch this while eating. Second, when you re down in the dumps, watch this DVD. Ellen will lift your spirits. Ellen to the rescue:)
