Product DescriptionHow do you like your muffins? With blueberries or oat bran, or maybe chocolate chips? One thing is certain, you want them beautifully golden, tender, and with a nicely domed top. An essential component in any baking endeavor is the bakeware ,and commercial quality sets the standard for durability and performance.
Amazon.com ReviewPerfect for savory dinner muffins, sweet breakfast muffins, or frosted birthday cupcakes, this 12-cup muffin pan offers the strength, durability, and reliability professional bakers have come to expect from Chicago Metallic for more than 100 years. If you're looking for a standard-size muffin pan to bake all your favorite recipes, this pan promises consistent, efficient, high-quality results.
Once available only to commercial kitchens, the pan is made of professional-weight aluminized steel, so it won't buckle or bend under intense heat and consistently provides fast and even heat distribution. Muffins brown quickly and evenly--there's no need to turn the sheet midway through baking. Bakers new to aluminized steel should pay extra attention at first, since this heavy-gauge pan bakes muffins more quickly than lighter-gauge varieties. The pan gradually darkens with use, which actually improves heat retention, but it may also require that oven temperatures are lowered by 25 degrees to ensure even browning. The traditional uncoated surface of this sheet makes it extra rugged and a great conductor of heat, but butter, oil, or parchment paper should be used to prevent foods from sticking. Greasing or lining the pan simplifies cleanup, since the pan will go from oven to dishwasher with no scrubbing in between. The shallow rim of the pan ensures a tidy oven as well--melting cheese and loose nuts stay contained. --Emily Wolf
sturdy muffin pans (Rating: 5 out of 5) I haven't baked with these pans yet, but they stack nicely, and feel very durable. Chicago Metallic has a good reputation.
Daughter Really Likes These (Rating: 5 out of 5) I got 2 of these for my fresh out of college daughter. She says she really likes them a lot. I didn't want to get the teflon coated bakeware as I did not want to expose her or her pets to any teflon gasses when the pan heats up. I plan to get myself these same muffin tins soon. They remind me of the heavy duty muffin pan I loved to use on the farm so much.
The pan rusted (Rating: 1 out of 5) This product disappointed me. The directions said it was dishwasher safe, so I ran it through the dishwasher prior to using it. When I took it out of the dishwasher I saw rust along the bottom of one whole side of the pan. I am in the process of returning this product and will purchase William Sonoma's Crown Muffin Pan instead.

Nice quality, but ridges around cups. (Rating: 4 out of 5) I have not yet used this muffin pan; however, once I received it I was a bit unhappy to find that there are ridges around the edges of the cups. Since I frequently have overflows with my muffins, these ridges will make it harder to clean up. Other than that, the quality seems good. I like that they are not nonstick. They are not oversized cups - which is nice for portion control.
