Product DescriptionThe perplexing plotlines and bewildering array of characters on the Emmy and Golden Globe award–winning television program Lost are analyzed and pieced together in this in-depth exploration. Both devoted fans and new viewers can approach the upcoming season with a solid understanding of events from Seasons 1 and 2 with the insightful commentary, copious episode analysis, and thoroughly detailed sections on the links between seemingly disparate events and each character’s back story. Questions such as How do the characters’ pasts intertwine? What do the animals on the island represent? and What is the religious, historical, and spiritual significance of the infamous number sequence 4 8 15 16 23 42? are addressed as well as the importance of the many literary references on the show. Cast member biographies and never-before-seen photos are also included.
Great Book and Series (Rating: 5 out of 5) I love this show, its the best on TV. I've also found this book to be very good also. Now I'm going back and watching all the seasons over to find secrets and clues that I may have missed.
One of the things LOST introduced me to was the Twilight Zone which J.J. Abrams was inspired. Besides this book, I recommend one other also on Amazon.com. THE TWILIGHT ZONE: Unlocking the Door to a Television Classic by Martin Grams. Together, both books open the skies for cult television.
Guess I already found Lost before hand... (Rating: 2 out of 5) I was very dissapointed in this book.. Maybe I should have read it before I got up to date with the show, but in my opinion this book was written by someone who vaguely watched the show, then scoured the internet for theories. Many of her 'Nitpicks' and 'Oops' moments are actually not if you know what the writers are getting at, or have been explained a few episodes later. I won't be reading her next guide, I'll probably look elsewhere this time, if at all.
Revisiting Lost (Rating: 4 out of 5) I've had a lot of fun with this book, as I've rewatched Season 1. It doesn't recap the episodes minute by minute, but instead provides insights and of course, more questions. It gave me a lot of things to think about. I can't wait to revisit Season 2, with this book in hand. I've gained a lot of understanding and had things pointed out to me that I missed the first time through. If you are a "Lostie" fan, devoted to trying to solve the mysteries of the island, I think you would enjoy this book. I also have the one for Season 3, but have not gotten around to it yet.
don't buy (Rating: 1 out of 5) Don't buy unless you want a lecture on male oppression. i just wanted insite into the show
Best lost guide ever (Rating: 4 out of 5) This is a great book. Every lost fan should get it. It has pieces of information that I never would have noticed by just watching each episode. My only critism is that Nikki Stafford missed alot of things that happened in each episode, but other than that, it's a great book that's essential to every lost fan's book shelf.
