Product DescriptionFour sisters, a Manhattan brownstone, and a tumultuous year of loss and courage are at the heart of Danielle Steel’s new novel about a remarkable family, a stunning tragedy—and what happens when four very different young women come together under one very lively roof.
Candy–it’s the only name she needs—is blazing her way through Paris, New York, and Tokyo as fashion’s latest international supermodel. . . .
Her sister Tammy has a job producing the most successful hit show on TV, and a home she loves in L.A.’s Hollywood Hills. . . . In New York, oldest sister Sabrina is an ambitious young lawyer, while Annie is an American artist in Florence, living for her art. . . . On one Fourth of July weekend, as they do every year, the four sisters come home to Connecticut for their family’s annual gathering. But before the holiday is over, tragedy strikes and their world is utterly changed.
Suddenly, four sisters who have been fervently pursuing success and their own lives—on opposite sides of the world—reunite to share one New York brownstone, to support each other and their father, and to pick up the pieces while one sister struggles to heal her shattered body and soul. Thus begins an unscripted chapter of their lives, as a bustling house is soon filled with eccentric dogs, laughter, tears, friends, men . . . and the kind of honesty and unconditional love only sisters can provide. But as the four women settle in, they are forced to confront the direction of their respective lives. As the year passes and another July Fourth approaches, a season of grief and change gives way to new beginnings—as a family comes together to share its blessings and a future filled with surprises and, ultimately, hope.
With unerring insight and compassion, Danielle Steel tells a compelling story of four sisters who love and laugh, struggle and triumph . . . and are irrevocably woven into the fabric of each other’s lives. Brilliantly blending humor and heartbreak, she delivers a powerful message about the fragility—and the wonder—of life.

Boring......... (Rating: 1 out of 5) I had stopped reading Danielle Steele years ago because all her books are the same, they run on and on and on about some incredibly beautiful fragile woman/women who overcome every tragedy known to mankind. I bought this because I have 3 sisters of my own, but I wouldn't recommend it to any of them! What a waste to read! No more Danielle Steele for me!
It doesn't even deserve one star but I couldn't submit this with less!
Boring (Rating: 1 out of 5) I have not read a book of Danielle Steel for manny years - and I should have kept it that way! It was like it was written by a child (sorry boys and girls). The story about an family losing their mother, and a sister losing her sight could have been interesting. But the story was too poorly told. Sentences was repeated time and time again. I can not recommend this book to any one.
an overall ok book (Rating: 3 out of 5) this book to me was just ok....this was the first ds book i have read soooooooo- i really wasnt impressed but it was ok it had a pretty good story to it.....something seemed a little out of reach but it hasnt totally scared me away from her books i will try another
Not one of Steel's best..... (Rating: 3 out of 5) I agree with most of the other reviews on this particular book, however, I am a big Danielle Steel fan and have read every book she has written. The one that got me started was "The Promise". From there, I just kept buying, reading and waiting for the next one to come out. I have already pre-ordered her next two novels.
Anyway, there are good stories and there are bad. (as with every author) The one I was most disappointed with was "Malice", which I thought was completely out of character for Steel and could not understand why she had ever written it. For those of you who think all her writing is the same, take a look at "Malice" and see if it changes your perspective. This will show you that all Danielle Steel books are NOT the same.
Very unbelievable!! (Rating: 2 out of 5) This was the second Danielle Steel book I have ever read (the first was a long time ago) and now I remember why I do not read them.
I found Danielle Steel's writing to be very dull and repetitive. I felt as though I were reading the same thing over and over.
As if that weren't bad enough, the storyline was so unbelievable...it centers around a family of perfect sisters, each beautiful but with a different color hair and each with either a high-powered career, fame, or a talent. Tragedy strikes perfect family, but don't worry, more perfect things happen and everyone lives happily ever after.
If you are after a very formulaic read, this is the book for you. If you want a book with an interesting plot and lifelike characters, look elsewhere!
