Great for hiking (Rating: 5 out of 5) Gave to a relatative who is "Action Man" and he uses it all the time
Insurance in a backpack in the auto trunk! (Rating: 5 out of 5) Great to have this ready to go. Just stop by a deli and get some cheese, wine and sliced meat and fench bread and your wife or girl friend will forgive you for working late!
he LIKED it! (Rating: 5 out of 5) my brother said he thought about buying one of these, but didn't want to spend the money on it, good price and now he has it!
Outdoorsmen Aficianado (Rating: 4 out of 5) The bag is very well put together. The storage space, or "cooler" area is a bit small and you can't fit much more than a few sandwiches in it. If you are not going far, you can fill up the other section with your stuff. The utensils are universal and will last if you take care of them. This bag really gets the job done, and for $20, you can't find a better deal out there.
black friday sale (Rating: 3 out of 5) Got it on the black friday "super sale"
I'd say it was an ok value for the $20 sale, but no way would it be worth the sticker price that they optimistically attached on a tag to the backpack and what was listed on Amazon as normal price.
Beware that the picture makes the kit look higher quality than it is. The backpack construction is pretty good - fabric is lighter weight and thinner than I'd prefer, but stitching, etc. are well done. The plates, glasses utinsils, etc., well... let's just say you won't mind if one gets broken or lost, and can replace it with a high end disposable plate, or something from the dollar store. They are plastic and reminiscent of kid's play sets. As a positive, because of all the plastic and light construction, it is in fact quite light which is nice when doing more than carrying from the car. Be real though - how many times would you actually hike and carry something like this vs. much more space/weight efficient trail food.
I'd be mad if I got this after paying $75. After paying $20 though, I'm happy with the purchase and mostly amused by it's cheapness.
