Great Item (Rating: 5 out of 5) The product is a laser toy for cats or whomever. My cat is totally fixated on this product. She goes crazy for it all the time. The product is as described. Shipping was a little slow, but for the price this gadget is great.
Big hit with our cats (Rating: 5 out of 5) As several others have said, if a cat does not like the dot, it is not the dots fault. One of our cats (both three years old) is very sweet, but we thought a little "slow". While our other cat (Billie) could be entertained, or would entertain herself, with all sorts of toys, Allie would not get excited about much of anything, except when it was time to eat. Allie came alive with this toy. We had no idea she could move so fast and could be so agile.
Piece of Junk (Rating: 2 out of 5) This works for about a weeks then takes a pair of vice grips to hold the switch in the right place for the lazer to shine. Don't waste your money. Was a great novelty and my cat LOVED it till it became so hard to push the button and find just the right spot and now he is disappointed big time.
Batteries included? (Rating: 2 out of 5) At the price listed, I bought three of these laser pointers/pet toys to use in my classroom. Unfortunately, one of the packages came with batteries that were basically dead. After a few clicks of the laser, the light would become very dim until the batteries rested for awhile. The purchase price seemed like a great deal until I had to immediately go out and buy new batteries which brought the price up to the cost of a more expensive model. Not much of a savings after all.
The different tips also diffuse the laser light greatly and the laser doesn't show very far while using them. I found that using the laser bare w/o a fancy pointer tip was much better ultimately.
Also, the click switch is faulty on two of the pointers. Sometimes when you click it on, nothing happens or the laser is dim and you have to release then push the button again before you get the full laser light.
If you're using it as a pet toy, it's probably OK, but I have been disappointed while trying to use it in my classroom.
This toy ruined my Christmas (Rating: 1 out of 5) Giving this toy to my mom for her cats was what I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOST AS CHRISTMAS WAS NEARING, especially after reading all the amazing reviews about it here. I was completely and utterly disappointed when her cats did not show the slightest interest. They could not even be bothered to move their heads slightly to follow the dot of light on the wall. Sure, they'd allow their eyes to rest on it if it did not require the slightest adjustment of their heads, but they looked excruciatingly bored. It made me think that perhaps all the positive reviews here were written by the company that makes this toy.
